Amsterdam, NH - September 14, 2026-- O Tree, a new trio led by veteran electric guitarist Wiek Hijmans alongside drummer and vibraphonist Mees Siderius and bassist Bart Soeters, will release its debut album, Thy Love is Endless, on October 22, 2026 — celebrated that same night with an album release concert at Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht. The record moves between chamber music, virtuoso jazz-rock, and drone in one continuous, narrative arc.

The Tivoli Vredenburg show is O Tree's official album release concert, bringing Thy Love is Endless to the stage in full on the night it arrives. Tickets and details: tivolivredenburg.nl.
Inspired by the quiet power of trees, the album merges tightly composed material with expressive, sometimes stoic improvisation, layering deep grooves, dense harmonies, unexpected timbres, and spoken word into a coherent narrative that carries the listener from root to canopy. Tracks "Thy" and "Love" sit at the heart of that arc.
The album was produced by Dries van Elten in collaboration with Hijmans, Siderius, and Soeters. Daan van Bommel created the artwork, and Ernst Dullemond built a tree-like sculpture that glows and speaks on stage, carrying the album's concept into O Tree's live shows.
"When I see a tree and give it my full attention, my nervous system relaxes almost on its own," said Hijmans. "Two stunning musicians, Mees and Bart, have touched me with their openness, creativity, and musical agility — with them, musical materials flow into each other in a way I've never experienced before. Our trio is called O Tree. This record is an ode to the tree."
Over a four-decade career, Hijmans moves fluidly between rock, jazz, classical music, and noise, composing for theater, dance, and orchestras, and drawing on a catalog of 150 solo works for electric guitar. He tours internationally as a soloist, performs on national television, and teaches artistic development at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory, where the concept behind O Tree continues to take shape.
O Tree also plays October 1 at Grey Space in The Hague and November 1 at Jazz in Verdan in Zaandam, with more dates to follow. Thy Love is Endless releases October 22 via Toondist/AudioMaze. More at www.otree.live.
