Beatriz Celebrates Debut Album "Perseverancia" With Sold-Out Release Show at Bimhuis Amsterdam
The Rotterdam Latin jazz sextet led by Cuban pianist Laura ArgudÃn marked the release of their first full-length album with a sold-out night at Amsterdam's iconic Bimhuis. Perseverancia is out now on CD, vinyl and all digital platforms.
Rotterdam - October 8, 2026-- Rotterdam-based Latin jazz sextet Beatriz has released its debut full-length album, Perseverancia, now available on CD, vinyl and all digital platforms. The band celebrated the release on September 25 with a sold-out album release show at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, one of Europe's most respected jazz venues.

“It was an amazing experience to play my own compositions live with this family of a band for a sold-out Bimhuis,” says Laura Argudín, pianist, composer and bandleader of Beatriz. “I’m incredibly proud of what we have created together, and I look forward to sharing this music with audiences at festivals in the months ahead.”
Composed and produced by Argudín, Perseverancia marks a major step forward for the ensemble after their first EP and after international tours across South America and Europe, including a performance at Colombia's Barranquilla Jazz Festival. It is the band's first release on physical formats. The album blends traditional Cuban son, West African percussion and fiery jazz improvisation. It honors Cuban heritage while reaching into new cultural territory, with guest artist Fanti Araby O’Bryan on Malinke percussion.
The recording captures the energy of a live performance: all the musicians tracked together in one room to keep the sound organic and honest. Key tracks include “Esquemas,” which moves from a catchy melody into a playful cha-cha-cha groove, and “Tempo,” an energetic piece driven by a tight rhythm.
The album reflects a period of deep personal and artistic growth for Argudín, who became a mother during its creation while building an extended musical family within her band.
Following the sold-out Bimhuis debut, Beatriz will bring Perseverancia to the stage at these upcoming dates:
- 14 November 2026 – World Sessions, Batavierhuis, Rotterdam
- 5 & 6 March 2027 – New Tide Festival, Amare, The Hague
