The album, named after the iconic Turkish folk song, which translates to “Poplar Trees Along the Stream,” delves into the powerful, universal themes of Love and Nature. Muamma’s six-piece collective, featuring vocals, bağlama (saz), clarinet, saxophone, keys, bass, and percussion, has reimagined a selection of time-honored Turkish folk songs, giving them a bold, contemporary flair while preserving their emotional core.

 A Fusion of Ancient Roots and Modern Sound

Dereboyu Kavaklar is more than a cover album; it’s an act of musical preservation and innovation. The core concept centers on the belief that love and nature offer essential healing and connection in a fast-paced, divided world. The band’s formation in 2021 was a serendipitous meeting of musicians who immediately clicked, inspiring their chosen name, Muamma (meaning mystery or enigma). This debut project channels that collaborative spark.
